Well Page 8 is finally complete, and I couldn’t resist starting the next page before stopping to take a photo. There is only one and a bit pages left to go until the end of the row now which is very exciting.
Hi, I stumbled onto your blog when I was looking for a better picture of the woodland enchantress since I was thinking about getting it for my next project (great job on it, btw!). But after seeing your progress on The Awakening from HAED, I went straight over there to see what other designs they had.
Yours is coming along amazingly and it’s quite impressive. I’m very tempted to start on a design of my own but with the tiny stitches and sheer number of them, I think I will hold off until I get a good frame to make it easier.
Anyhow, just wanted to drop you a line (or a dozen) and let you know you’ve inspired me to push to finish my dolphin project (it’s almost been 2years!) and start a little blog of my own 🙂
I found your blog a couple weeks ago and love looking at all of your artwork!! You do such a beautiful job and I love reading your thoughts on the designs and your updates.
This HAED design looks so amazing!!! What a challenge to undertake. You give me motivation to keep working on my projects.
hi i just started this piece and posted a pic of my progress and one of my friends had said that u were blogging the same piece . its a gorgeous gorgeous pattern and seeing the real stitches from your piece has made me want to get as far as i can im thinking it will take a good yr but your piece is stunning and its a challenging piece for me as i have never used evenweave before let alone on 28 over one so im finally getting use to the holes but i cant wait to see more of your piece come to life it gives me the inspiration to go and stitch what i can thanks for sharing your piece happy stitching your piece is stunning hugs carol
I’m so happy I stumbled upon this site! What a neat idea to blog your progress through a massive cross stitch project like that. I don’t think I would ever succeed in completely one that big but the payoff at the end is going to be the best! I looked at the HAED site and to be honest, cross stitch designs like that worry me. I once bought a design that was computer generated and it was complete crap. But, then again, I see the way that yours is turning out and it looks stunning!
Anyway, keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing future updates. Do you have a goal for when to have it completed or are you just going at your own pace?
Hi Lisa, thank you for your comments. Getting a design from HAED didn’t worry me because I had seen pictures of other people’s completed HAEDs so I knew it would look amazing. I don’t have a goal at all, I just work on it when I have the time. I know it will take years, but it will be worth it.
This is looking amazing 🙂 have you done much more on this?
I started a HAED in January this year and like yours it’s going to take me a few years to complete.

Oh my Goodness, this looks great! I heard HAED designs are large, how long have you been working on this?

Thank you, I started it in September 2008 but I don’t work on it very much so it’s taking a long time.
